Coach Widbin Takes Over Brophy Lacrosse Program

Mr. Zach Widbin, who joined Brophy's lacrosse program in 2009, has taken over as head coach. Leading up to this, he coached the Broncos at the JV and Varsity II levels, and has served as varsity defensive coordinator since 2013.

Coach Widbin grew up in New York's Hudson Valley and earned All-American lacrosse honors as a senior. He was also his section's selection to the U.S. Lacrosse National Senior Showcase. He was recruited by Harvard where he played midfield and attack for the Crimson and was a member of Harvard's 2006 NCAA tournament team. As a college senior, he won the team's Outstanding Player Award and the Class of '59 Trophy for Leadership. He was also selected as an NEILA all-star.

During his time at Brophy, Coach Widbin took the Varsity II team to the state Division I playoffs and was part of the coaching staff for the Broncos' 2013 state championship season. Last year's varsity team went all the way to the state championship game, ending the season as runner-up.
