NO CUTS – Brophy welcomes any freshman who would like to play football to the Freshman Football program. Since there are no cuts, size dictates two divisions within the freshman program - Red division and White division. It is one team, however, that works together to train and support one another as they lay the foundation for a future varsity program.

The Brophy Basketball program includes three teams (varsity, junior varsity, and freshman).
Tryouts begin Monday, October 30. Prior to tryouts, the coaches of each team (varsity, junior varsity, and freshman) will host a mandatory informational meeting for players who intend to try out. The dates, times, and locations of the meetings will be included in the daily announcements, the weekly bulletins, and the Brophy eNews so look for that information in early October.
Practices for all three levels will take place six days a week. Players will have practices over both Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks.
During the fall, there will be open gym opportunities. To keep informed about this schedule, be sure to check the weekly bulletin and listen to the daily announcements. If players or parents would like to join the Brophy basketball email list, please email your request to email@example.com.
NO CUTS. Wrestling is a no-cut sport at Brophy, however wrestle-offs are held (at times) to determine a starter in a particular weight class. Freshman, JV, and Varsity grapplers begin practice on October 30, 2017.
The uniform (a singlet) and match sweats are provided by Brophy; however, backpacks and season t-shirts and sweatshirts need to be purchased by team members through the Varsity Shop.
To sign up for the team, please email Coach Wayne Catan.
For parents interested in assisting with drinks and snacks at matches (oranges, bananas, and hydrating fluids) and planning a year-end event, please email Coach Catan. Three or four team parents are needed.

The Volleyball program, which includes varsity and junior varsity teams, competes during the spring. Each team carries between 12 and 16 players. Six spots on the JV team are reserved for 9th grade student-athletes, though additional freshmen have made the team in past years. There will be open gyms after school beginning in September. Dates and times will be announced in the Daily Bulletin.
If you have questions about the volleyball program, please email head coach Tony Oldani.
Crew is a no-cut sport at Brophy and no experience is required. Dues cover everything during the year except uniforms. Crew is a year-round sport but athletes can choose to participate during just the fall or spring semester, if they want to do another sport.
Anyone interested in joining should email Athletic Director Bill Woods.
Mr. Zach Widbin, who joined Brophy's lacrosse program in 2009, has taken over as head coach. Leading up to this, he coached the Broncos at the JV and Varsity II levels, and has served as varsity defensive coordinator since 2013.
Coach Widbin grew up in New York's Hudson Valley and earned All-American lacrosse honors as a senior. He was also his section's selection to the U.S. Lacrosse National Senior Showcase. He was recruited by Harvard where he played midfield and attack for the Crimson and was a member of Harvard's 2006 NCAA tournament team. As a college senior, he won the team's Outstanding Player Award and the Class of '59 Trophy for Leadership. He was also selected as an NEILA all-star.
During his time at Brophy, Coach Widbin took the Varsity II team to the state Division I playoffs and was part of the coaching staff for the Broncos' 2013 state championship season. Last year's varsity team went all the way to the state championship game, ending the season as runner-up.
Brophy lacrosse fields varsity and junior varsity teams during the spring season. JV is no-cut; varsity fields a team via tryouts. All students wishing to play on varsity must try out, including juniors and seniors.
