Thank you to all the young men who spent a day on campus in 2018-19.
Updated information on next year's Shadow Program will be posted in August.

The Bronco-for-a-Day Shadow Program

The applicant accompanies his host through that day's schedule and becomes familiar with the campus and academic programs. It is also an opportunity to meet some of the students and faculty. Sign-ups for the Class of 2024 begin online Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2019.

Shadow Days are typically Monday, Tuesday and Thursday beginning the week of Sept. 9 through early December. We have a handful of Shadow Days in January as well. We do not do Shadow Days on Wednesday or Friday because of a modified school schedule.

Answering Your Questions

List of 5 frequently asked questions.

  • Q Who will I spend the day with at Brophy?

We assign freshman shadow day hosts from our Diplomatic Corps based on interests (e.g. sports, music, activities, etc.) or middle school; or you can request a Brophy freshman you know. (All hosts are freshmen.)
  • Q Where do I go when I arrive for my Shadow Day?

Please check in with the Office of Admissions when you arrive on campus. Parents are not required to sign their son in or out. Your son can come to campus with another Brophy student or with a carpool if you like, but he must check in with the Office of Admissions.
  • Q How long is a Shadow Day?

    7:45 a.m.–2 p.m.

The school day begins at 8:05 a.m. Student guests should report to the Office of Admissions by the Eller Center for the Arts building at 7:45 a.m.

Parents, please park in the south parking lot. Contact the Office of Admissions if you would like a campus map.
  • Q What is Brophy's dress code for a Shadow Day?

Wear a collared shirt (polo, button down, etc.), and slacks or shorts with a belt. Any color or pattern is permissible. No denim jeans or gym shorts are allowed. No hats are allowed in the buildings.

Approximately once a month, there is a mass day and mass dress is required. If shadowing on a mass day, a student must wear a long-sleeved dress shirt, tie, dress pants, dress shoes and belt.
  • Q What do I bring with me on Shadow Day?

A sack lunch or lunch money. Food service is provided in Harper Great Hall where students may purchase pizza, sandwiches, snacks and drinks. Lunch costs vary, but approximately $6-$7 for lunch and break is sufficient. Visiting students must use cash to pay for lunch – debit cards are not accepted.

Also, please bring a book to read in case a teacher gives a test during class.
