Tennis Wins Premier Section Title and Earns No. 1 Seed in AIA Division Playoffs

The Brophy College Prep tennis team finished the regular season with a 14-0 record, including a 13-0 mark in Division I matches and 5-0 in section play. The Broncos won the Premier Section title and earned the No. 1 seed in the AIA Division I playoff bracket. They will host Valley Vista on April 24 at Phoenix Tennis Center at 3 p.m.
 
In doubles, Brophy’s Ryan Zerbib/Kentaro Akiyoshi are the No. 1 seed, playing Porter Anderson and Isaac Burt from Basha. The duo of Logan Phillips/Naren Gudavalli are the No. 2 seed, facing Heston Hammond and Brandon Bednar from Dobson in the state doubles tournament. They open play on April 26 at 10:30 a.m. at Scottsdale Ranch and Tennis Center. 
 
Tyler Woo plays the No. 3 seed Matthew Tenn of Liberty, while Alex Bunkse plays Nicholas Barnetetche of Desert Mountain. Both matches are at 9:00 a.m. on April 26.
