Lacrosse Improves to 10-0 with a Win, Earns US Lacrosse Regional Ranking and POW

The Brophy lacrosse team posted a 16-6 win over Perry on Tuesday in a 2023 State Championship game rematch. The Broncos led 6-2 at the half but took control in the third period after the Pumas cut the deficit to 7-4. Brophy scored seven straight to extend the lead out to 10.
Joshua Buse led the team with four consecutive goals in the third and fourth periods. Deion James was dominant, with 14 face-off wins and two goals. Charlie McGinnis recorded five ground balls, and Dane Helt and Connor Cassas added two.
Brophy also appeared for the first time in the USA Lacrosse West Region rankings at No. 10. It is the first in-season ranking in the program's school history.
Senior Erik Volfson was named the USA Lacrosse West Region Player of the Week.
