Lacrosse Standout Laird Miller to Sign with Rollins College

Lacrosse standout Laird Miller will sign with Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla, outside Orlando.

"Rollins is in a great location, and I liked the staff,” said Miller. “I thought I would fit well into their program because they run the same offense we do at Brophy. Rollins is the place for me.”

He will play for Head Coach Chris Smith, who led Rollins into uncharted territory in 2023, guiding the Tars to a 15-2 overall record, the program's first-ever SSC Regular Season title and first-ever SSC Tournament crown, as well as the first NCAA postseason contest in program history.

Miller, who plans to study business and economics, connected with the staff on his visit, solidifying his decision.

“They took time out of their day to walk me around campus and show me what Rollins has to offer,” said Miller. “They showed me the offense and film to show how I can fit into their program. I am excited about living in Florida and bonding with the team and all the ‘24 commitments.”

“Laird is the epitome of a self-made athlete who has poured all of his effort and dedication into earning a college scholarship to Rollins College,” said Head Coach Pat Harbeson. “His work ethic is second to none as he has put in countless hours in developing his craft both on and off the field. Laird is a player who does not need to be pushed as he is intrinsically motivated to be the best he can be.”

Miller has helped the Broncos to back-to-back state titles and looks to continue the winning tradition in his senior season.

“I think we are going to get the three-peat, and we are the top team in Arizona,” said Miller. “The offensive and defensive specialized units have been in the program and working together for a long time. We have great chemistry. We will have some great challenges from the out-of-state teams.”

Miller recorded nine multi-goal games last season and notched four more goals in each of the last five contests en route to the state title. He scored seven goals in a game two times and found the net five times in the state championship match.

“Laird has a knack for scoring goals as he has accumulated over 130 goals in his career,” said Harbeson. “His lacrosse journey is a testament to the power of hard work and determination. I wish every player in our program could see how hard Laird works outside of practice as it would give a great perspective on what it takes to be a high performer and be able to sit here today on signing day and be able to say you have EARNED a college scholarship.”

Miller says the team’s trip to Las Vegas was his favorite memory so far in his career. In his spare time, he works on an apprenticeship with his Dad in real estate and studies martial arts. He plans to be a brown belt before he leaves for college.

“I would describe myself more as an action-oriented leader,” said Miller. “On the field, I work hard, and I bring energy when I play. It helps bring up the team to compete and get to that level to do well.”

He will join his three teammates at the Brophy Collegiate Signing Day Celebration on Nov. 8.
