McGinnis Throws for Four Touchdowns in 44-7 Win over Mountain Pointe

Brophy won their third consecutive region game with a 44-7 victory over Mountain Pointe. The Broncos will play Salpoionte for the region title on Friday.

“It was a fantastic game for us,” said Head Coach Jason Jewell. “The offense kept the chains moving, the defense had five sacks and the kicking game did a nice job.”

The Pride tied the game by scoring on their opening play to erase the lead after Brophy posted with an opening scoring drive capped by a Harison Chambers 48-yard reception. The game was dominated by the Broncos the rest of the game, not allowing another point and scoring 37 unanswered points.

Quarterback Charlie McGinnis threw for four touchdowns and rushed for another to account for five touchdowns on the night. He went 21-for-30 for 246 yards. He also connected with Jacob Buggie, Nathan Benzie and Ryan DeKoning. He connected with seven receivers for two or more catches and nine overall on the night. Jax Ruyan led the team with five receptions. 

The team rushed for 144 yards and got three field goals from Connor Furey. 

Bastian Vanden Bosch had a team-best seven tackles including two for loss with a forced fumble and Mardale Rowe had 2.5 tackles for loss among his four tackles. Billy Estep added an interception.
