Veteran Coach Barbara Nejman Joins Swimming & Diving Program

Barbara Nejman returns to the Brophy College Prep pool deck as the Head Diving Coach after previously working with the Broncos from 1989-2004. 

“We are excited to welcome Coach Nejman back to the pool at Brophy and are excited for the experience she will bring in mentoring our Broncos,” said Head Coach Daren Brubaker. 

The 1976 USA Olympian has extensive coaching and competitive background. She has coached more than 75 divers into State high school finals and coached 22 State champions (New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Arizona). She has been named a Coach of the Year in three states and established five Arizona diving teams (AZ Marlins, AZ Heat, Dive Neptune, Buckeye, and Y Silver Fins). She served as the Meet Director of the Arizona State High School Championships for 15 years.

She was a member of the 1976 Olympic team and finished eighth in the three-meter board and later coached three Olympians. She is a Level I and II instructor and is a FINA Certified International Diving Judge. She served on the NISCA High School All-America Selection Committee for 15 years. 

Nejman has coached and taught locally at both Xavier College Prep (15 years) and Notre Dame Prep (10 years), as well as Agua Fria and Paradise Valley high schools.
