Soccer’s Hagan to Play at U.S. Coast Guard Academy

Recent Brophy graduate Ian Hagan has committed to playing soccer and attending school at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

“I picked the Coast Guard Academy because it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build leadership qualities, receive an incredible education and compete against some of the most talented kids in the country,” said Hagan.

Hagan, who will be studying management, will play for Head Coach Chris Parson at the NCAA Division III school located in New London, Conn.

“The soccer program at Coast Guard creates a brotherhood that lasts a lifetime,” said Hagan. “Coach Parsons expects nothing but the best from us and pushes us to be our best. I am extremely honored to be able to take part in such an amazing program.”

Hagan was a senior leader on the 2023 Bronco team that reached the AIA 6A Conference semifinals and posted a 17-2-2 record.

“To continue playing means everything to me,” said Hagan about playing in college. “I’ve been playing since I was about 8 years and has always been a rock in my life.”

He is the 20th student-athlete from the Class of 2023 to make a collegiate commitment and the second soccer player.
