Lacrosse Advances to State Semifinals

The top-seeded Brophy lacrosse team posted a 19-2 win over Corona del Sol on Friday, advancing to the Arizona Lacrosse League semifinals on Tuesday against Notre Dame Prep at 7 p.m. The game will be at the Graham Family Sports Campus at 7 p.m.

Laird Miller scored seven times in the contest including four in the first period as the Broncos built a 7-2 lead. The Aztecs did not score again as Brophy out-scored them 12-0 over the final three periods. 

Ethan Swenson had three goals and three ground balls. Connor Rassas had 10 ground balls, while Thomas Haak added five assists with his two goals. 

Brophy (15-6, 10-1) will host No. 4 Notre Dame Prep on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in a semifinal matchup for a pot in Friday’s final at Desert Vista HS. The other final includes No. 3 Perry and No. 6 Boulder Creek.
