Get to Know: Lacrosse's #5 Ryan Kennedy

Ryan Kennedy has been a three-sport standout for the Broncos, playing football, soccer, and lacrosse. He has two brothers, including Sean ‘24, and a sixth-grade brother at St. Francis. He has earned two varsity football letters, one in soccer and two in lacrosse. He plans to study finance at ASU. He is involved in the student council and the National Honor Society.
 
What are you looking forward to most about the Lacrosse season?
“I am looking forward to being with my teammates and enjoying the season. Hopefully, we get some more wins.”
 
What has been your favorite moment at Brophy?
“My favorite moment was definitely winning the state championship. It was great being part of the team and feeling I contributed to the game. Beating everyone was an unsurpassable moment.”
 
What are your college plans at this point?
“I am planning on going to Arizona State.”
 
What are you going to miss most about Brophy?
“I am going to miss the culture and friends. It is great knowing everybody and feeling you are at your home.”
 
What is your favorite sport?
“It is lacrosse. I played it when I was super little. I did not play from fifth to eighth grade. I started playing freshman year again.”
 
What is a fun fact about Ryan?
“I broke my leg in the second grade playing flag football, non-contact.”
 
Is there a sibling rivalry with your brother Sean?
“He knows who is in charge. (smiling)”
 
What do you take away from the football season?
“Not to take anything for granted. I will never play football again in my life, and it is not one of the sports you can just play at the gym. Cherish every moment. I am caring that into lacrosse. You never know when your last practice or game will be so cherish every moment of the season.”
 
What have you enjoyed about being on the student council and helping set the culture for the school?
“I have enjoyed facing the challenges like COVID and making sure everyone stayed involved and the ability to provide the whole experience for the student body. I have really enjoyed it.”
