Track and Field’s McHenry Finishes Fifth in the High Jump at Nike Outdoor Nationals, Earns All-America Honors 

EUGENE, Ore. - Rising senior Brennen McHenry finished tied for fifth with a clearance of 6-5 in the high jump at the Nike Outdoor Nationals at Historic Hayward Field on Saturday.  

He cleared 6-5 on his second attempt to tie Ray Oldam of the Davis Track Club, earning All-America honors with his podium finish. McHenry opened the event with a clearance on his second attempt at 6-3.25, while he missed on three attempts at a personal-best height of 6-9. Timothy Watson won the event 6-11.  

McHenry, who was competing for Team Brophy Prep, was the top finisher in the high jump among the class of 2023 athletes. 

He opened his competition on Friday, finishing 11th in the long jump with a best jump of 22-1.5. 
McHenry ‘23 won the 2022 Division I state championship in the long jump with a leap of 23-4.75 and placed fourth in the high jump with a clearance of 6-4. He was named Premier League first-team all-region and set school records in both events.
