Mateja Milovanovic and Case Montanile Take Top Honors at Sports Awards

Mat Milovanovic '20 took home Swimmer of the Year honors at the annual azcentral Sports Award on June 18. Milovanovic led his team to its 32nd consecutive Division I state title this year and the 42nd championship in program history. At this year's state meet, he captured individual titles in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:38.45 and in the 100-yeard freestyle with a time of 49.62. Milovanovic will swim at the University of Arizona next year.

Finn Dowdall '21 was also a nominee in boys swimming. Brophy Swim and Drive is coached by Daren Brubaker.

Also honored at the Sports Awards was Francesco "Case" Montanile '20 who was named Player of the Year for the second consecutive year. Montanile also recently received Gatorade Player of the Year honors for Arizona boys soccer. He led Brophy Soccer to its second consecutive Division I state title this year. Montanile will play NCAA Division I soccer at the University of California Irvine.
