The Inaugural Power Breakfast, 2006
The inaugural Power Breakfast, originally called the Sports Power Breakfast, kicked off in 2006 to raise money to build the Brophy Sports Campus (now the Graham Family Sports Campus). The guest speakers were Wayne Gretzky, Jeff Hornacek and Matt Williams. By the end of the morning, $1.4 million had been raised to help fund a new sports campus. The Brophy Sports Campus was dedicated in April 2010. Brophy's president at that time, Fr. Eddie Reese, S.J., noted at the dedication, "Brophy has waited since 1928 to have enough playing fields and facilities. St. Ignatius always reminds us of 'the slow work of God' and we have sure been patient for this."
Since 2010, the proceeds from the annual Power Breakfast have most often gone to support financial aid.
