Swimming Hosts AMDG Invitational

Looking to improve and record top times for the AIA State Championships, the Brophy swimming and diving team hosted the AMDG Invitational on Saturday. It was the third invite of the season for the Broncos.

The Broncos won six events in the meet. Brophy opened the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay with Mark Heffern, Teddy Neilson, Tristan Oudman, and Fischer Whitehead in 1:39.91. Markus Crawford won the 200 individual medley in 2:03.61, the fourth-best time on the team this season. Tristan Oudman won the 100 butterfly in 54.94 and Neilson won the 500 free in 4:48.34, the top time in the event this season.

The 200-yard free relay improved their provisional state qualifying time, touching the wall second in 1:30.59 with Oudman, Asher Gomez, Whitehead, and Kelly.

Mark Heffern won 100 backstroke in 55.87, the second-best time on the team this season. Senior Sean Kennedy won the diving competition with a score of 342.15.

Brophy will host their annual replay meet on Tuesday followed by the senior celebration for the 18 seniors participating in the program.
