Football Wins Third Straight with 37-20 Victory over Chaparral

The Broncos posted a 37-20 victory over Chaparral to win their third straight and second consecutive at home. 

The Brophy defense recorded three interceptions (Colbert, Thomas, Sebald), running back Harrison Chambers scored two times on the ground, while receivers Nathan Benzie and Christian Camarata caught Charlie McGinnis's passes to aid the victory.

Chambers rushed for 28 carries for 178 yards in his first career start. He provided a big play in the third quarter with the Broncos facing third and 12 at their own 1, Chambers broke a 62-yard run to set up a score after the Firebirds had cut the deficit.

Kicker Connor Furey added three field goals (21, 21, 46) and booted a personal-best 52-yard punt. Fellow kicker Eddie Jetton added to the win with seven touchbacks on 8 kickoffs and held returner Plas Johnson in check with just 14 return yards.

McGinnis finished 15-for-25 with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Christian Camarata was the top receiver with five receptions for 74 yards and recorded a touchdown for the third consecutive game. 

Bastian Vanden Bosch led the team with nine tackles and added two pass deflections and a PAT block. Cree Thomas recorded an interception for the third straight game and Jack Sebald (3 on the season) and Marlon Colbert (second) added picks.
