Get to Know: #24 Parker Jennings

Parker Jennings is in his first year playing lacrosse and second year at Brophy after transferring from St. Ignatius in San Francisco. He played on both the Varsity and Varsity II teams this season. He plans to attend the University of Utah. He has two brothers, one older and one younger.

What was the biggest challenge of transferring in high school?

“The biggest challenge was getting in the flow of things. It is back to high school after CoVID.”

What has been fun about playing lacrosse this season?

“Being on both teams has been really nice and getting to know more guys at school. It has been great getting minutes.”

Tell us about the upset win in the playoffs for Varsity II.

“It was a wild game. We had everything in that game. We had a lot of penalties and the offense really clicked that game. We spread the goals out across a bunch of kids so that was nice. The defense really locked it down. We knew which guys to shut off and we really accomplished it.”

What is a fun fact about you?

“I have a dog named Billy.”

What went behind your decision to attend the University of Utah?

“I wanted somewhere I could play lacrosse, I could snowboard and Utah is really pretty. I am going to study kinesiology.”

What has been your favorite Brophy lacrosse moment?

“My favorite moment was beating Cactus Shadows and storming the field after the game.”

What are you looking forward to about the rest of the playoffs?

“I am looking forward to getting closer with the guys. The energy in the locker room and at practice has been great. We are flying around and everything is clicking right now. It should be an exciting week.”

What animal best represents you: Dolphin.

What is your greatest achievement: Junior Olympic Water Polo.

If you could time travel, would you go to the past or the future: Past.

What teacher has inspired you the most: Mr. Grindey.
