Get to Know: Lacrosse's #3 Charlie Clarke

Charlie Clarke is a four-year member of the program. He will be attending the University of Arizona and studying Business. A fun fact about Charlie is he loves movies and has seen every Rocky movie over 20 times.

When did you start playing lacrosse?
“I started playing in the sixth grade with Thomas Haak at Arrowhead.”

What do you love about the sport of lacrosse?
“It is a great mix of the physicality that makes it fun. Playing it has been really fun.”

What is your strength in helping the team be sucessful?
“I do a great job with my role. I am not the guy who will go out and score six goals a game. I know my role in the offense and know the plays. I help the younger guys in the offense.”

What was the highlight of winning the state championship lst year?
“It was a great accomplishment because worked so hard for it. Not winning it the year before hurt. It was great for the seniors because they had yet to win one in their four years.”

What did you learn from the first travel trip to California?
“We learned alot from it. We faced a lot of adversity on that trip. We learned we are not as dominant as we were last year. We need some guys to step up whether it be doing the hard things or pushing ourselves in the later stages of the game.”

What are your goals for your senior year?
“We are trying to make a lot of memories, have fun and win the state championship. We also want to have fun in the process while winning games.”

What is the challenge of having two Charlie Clark(e)s in the Brophy senior class?
“We get mixed up a lot. Sometimes the dean’s office calls the wrong student or the Business office charges the wrong family account. It happens all the time.”

What are your goals for the rest of the season?
“We are looking forward to the California trip (this weekend) to play Foothill and Mater Dei. They will be big tests for us. After our last trip did not go too well, we want to bounce back and have a good week.”
