Tennis Doubles Pair Ryan Zerbib and Logan Phillips Advance to Division I State Championship

Brophy seniors Ryan Zerbib and Logan Phillips will play for the AIA Division I Doubles Championship on Monday at Paseo Racquet Club at 5 p.m. They defeated Mason Berry/Jackson Sivley of Hamilton in the semifinals on straight sets 6-0, 6-2 on Saturday.

The Brophy duo has not lost a set in four matches in the tournament and has dropped just eight games in total. 

Zerbib paired with Kentaro Akiyoshi ‘24 last season to win the doubles title. Brophy has won 17 doubles titles in school history, including each of the previous four. 

Senior Tyler Woo advanced to the singles quarterfinals on Saturday before falling to No. 3 seed Conor Cruse of Chaparral 6-2, 6-2. Freshman Haan Lee and Brenan Linstrom won their opening match in the doubles tournament before falling in the second round to the seventh-seeded team from Desert Mountain. 

The team tournament restarts on Wednesday with the No. 2-seeded Broncos hosting Corona del Sol at 3 p.m. at Xavier College Prep.
