Basketball Earns No. 6 Seed in AIA Open Division Playoffs

The Brophy basketball team was selected for the AIA Open Division as a No. 6 seed, the AIA announced on Saturday. The Broncos will play No. 27 Mesquite on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Robson Gym. 

The winners advance to play the winner of the No. 11 Basha and No. 22 Centennial. The loser returns to the conference brackets announced next week.

Tickets are only available on GoFan.co and are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Mother’s Guild, Dad’s Club, Alumni, and Brophy students must purchase tickets to all AIA postseason events. Children five and under do not need a ticket.  

Brophy (20-7) will take on a Gilbert Mesquite team that owns a 19-7 record and 9-1 in the 4A Desert Sky Region that includes St. Mary’s They split with the Knights. The Broncos own a 3-1 record against common opponents.
