Qualifiers Set for AIA State Track and Field Championships

The Brophy track and field team will have representatives in four events, including four athletes in three individual events and one relay, at the 2026 AIA Track and Field Championships at Mesa Community College on Friday and Saturday.

Freshman Hudson Hensley will compete in the javelin in the second flight on Friday, with the event starting at 2:30 p.m. He finished second in the javelin at the Division I meet with a personal-best of 192-9. It is the Arizona State freshman record (breaking his own record) and No. 2 among freshmen in the nation. 

Junior Garrett Larsen will line up in the 400 meters at 7:30 p.m. on Friday night in the 400 meters. He advanced with a sixth-place finish (48.53) last week at divisionals. 

The 4x800m Relay (Diego Alejos, Benner Niemoth, Colin St. Hilaire, Spencer Nick) opens the meet on Saturday night at 5:45 p.m. Senior Tanner Bice and sophomore Henry O’Riley will participate in the high jump on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. 

Max Columbus will compete next week in the decathlon at Arizona State Multis May 22-23.
