Football's Vanden Bosch Makes Air Force Commitment

Brophy senior quarterback Case Vanden Bosch has committed to attend and play for the United States Air Force Academy. The Falcons play in the Mountain West Conference.

“I can't wait to get to the Air Force,” said Vanden Bosch. “I loved all the coaches and the community. The brotherhood reminded me of my friends and teachers at Brophy. I am excited for the journey.”

Vanden Bosch will play for Head Coach Troy Calhoun, who is in his 18th season. He left the Houston Texans of the NFL as an offensive coordinator in 2007 to embrace the mission of the Air Force Academy and to build a service academy program that often earns a postseason bid while playing in one of college football’s best conferences.

Vanden Bosch has been the starter at quarterback for two seasons, leading the Broncos to the Open Division playoffs this season. He leaves the school with his name dotting the school record books. He passed for 4,403 yards and 42 touchdowns, ranking fifth and fourth in school history, while finishing as the school’s all-time leading rusher by a quarterback with 1,943 yards. He also had a school record career completion percentage (71.05).

“The first word that comes to my mind when I describe Case Vanden Bosch is tough,” said Head Coach Jason Jewell. “And I can't think of another quarterback that I have coached that I would describe that way. We asked Case to do a lot and take a beating, and he never backed down, never missed a practice, and never passed up a hit....even though I would have liked him to from time to time. Case's name will be all over our all-time leader board, passing yards, rushing yards, and touchdowns, but what I think makes Case special is his leadership. AS our team captain and a campus leader, he will be hard to replace. The Air Force is getting a special player and person.”

He also led the Broncos to the AIA 6A Conference semifinals in 2024 and helped the basketball team to the AIA 6A Conference title. Vanden Bosch has been part of the school’s student leadership group. He participated in the RCIA program last year and received the sacraments in the Catholic faith.

“Coming to Brophy, I was not familiar with the Catholic faith,” recalled Vanden Bosch. “Starting with my first Mass at Brophy and with all my friends involved in the church, I was blessed with  love and grace, and it made my decision really easy.”

Vanden Bosch will participate in the Football Collegiate Commitment Ceremony on Dec. 3.
