Cox Returns to Basketball Staff as Head Freshman Coach
Doug Cox has returned to campus as the Head Freshman Basketball Coach for the 2026-27 season.
He first arrived at Brophy in 2004 and, in addition to being a fixture in the math department, coached basketball, football, and track over nearly twenty years. After a few years away from Brophy, he returned in 2026 to rejoin the math department and again serve as the head freshman basketball coach.
Coach Cox has coached at all three levels, but the majority of his time has been spent as the head freshman coach, from 2008 to 2017. He received his bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University and his master’s degree from Northern Arizona University. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, as well as training for and competing in Spartan races.
