Golfers Earn All-Arizona and Region Postseason Honors

Four golfers were recognized by the Arizona Republic on their All-Arizona team, including senior Mateo Berastegui, Junior Asher Nelson, and sophomore Hank Miller. 

Berastegui was fifth overall at the Division I state tournament, while Nelson and Miller tied for second overall. Jack Langbein was named an honorable mention choice.

Nominees are based on performances during the season, with emphasis on the state championship tournament, and final season state rankings from iWanamaker and national PGA National High School Golf Association rankings after fall 2025.

Head Coach Jon Shores was named the Central Region Coach of the Year. Berastegui, Miller, Nelson, and Langbein were Central Region First Team selections. Evan Tyree was an honorable mention choice.

First and second team choices were based on State Tournament finishes. 

The team secured its 11th state title in school history by winning the AIA Division I State Championship for the second consecutive season in November 2025, defeating Hamilton by 12 strokes. The team is ranked No. 1in the nation by the PGA National High School Golf Association.
