AIA State Tennis Tournament Singles and Doubles Fields Announced
Seniors Ryan Zerbib and Logan Phillips have been selected as the No. 1 seed in the AIA State Championship doubles competition set to begin on May 2. They will face Jack MacFarlane / Max Booen of Red Mountain in the first round at 10 a.m. at Phoenix Tennis Center.
Zerbib paired with Kentaro Akiyoshi ‘24 last season to win the doubles title. Brophy has won 17 doubles titles in school history, and each of the previous four titles overall.
Other Broncos selected for the doubles field include freshmen Haan Lee and Brendan Linstrom. They will play Ayan Patel and RC Henderson of Liberty in the opening round.
Tyler Woo and Naren Gudavalli were chosen for the singles tournament. Woo is the No. 6 seed and will play Charles Schuler of Arizona College Prep. Gudavalli is the No. 8 seed and will play Akram Osman of Westwood. Both matches start at 8:45 a.m. at PTC.
Woo reached the singles quarterfinals last season, while Gudavalli paired with Phillips to reach the doubles semifinals.
