2017 Season - Important Information

Greetings 2017 Brophy Lacrosse Community! Please see the below information, as we look toward the 2017 Lacrosse season!

Paperwork

All players must complete the required paperwork, which is linked below, and is also on our lacrosse website. Please deliver completed paperwork to Coach Widbin - PIPER 210

Physicals

Players must have a complete, 2016-17 physical on File at Brophy. Please confirm with Chris White whether or not your physical has been received, and cleared. ***No player is able to try out without a physical on file at Brophy.***

Tryout Fee $50

If you have not paid your Tryout fee, please do so immediately. Bring your check (made out to Brophy Lacrosse) to the business office. ***Players are not able to try out without confirmation of payment from the business office.***

Tryout Schedule and Important dates

Our tryout schedule and important 2017 season dates have been added to the MyBrophy calendar. All players who have completed their paperwork are in the MyBrophy System, and therefore able to view the schedule. If you are unable to view the schedule your paperwork is not complete, so please complete and submit it immediately. Attached is a bullet-point version for you to view until you have official access. ***Please note that scheduled practices do not appear on the public version of the lacrosse website (only games can), so you should continue to look at MyBrophy for the practice schedule.***

The game schedule will be released by the league to us at end of January, at which point we will update you as soon as we receive it.

Cleats

We have re-opened our cleat website for our UNDENIABLE Brand Partnership, please see the below link. Varsity players are required to wear UA cleats, and our partnership allows our JV participants to take advantage of our discount.

Helmets

Due to the closure of the local store, we are no longer able to receive significant discount pricing on helmets. Please do your own research, and find best prices possible for your Brophy helmet. Our styles and color combination is below.

Lacrosse 101

In an effort to bring our community together and provide education to our families, we are planning to host Lacrosse 101 for both Moms & Dads, separately. We have earmarked the Weekend of Feb 11^th for both, and will communicate more information by the end of the week.

President's Day weekend

We will NOT have practice or games over Presidents Day weekend, Friday, 2/17 through Monday, 2/20. Please use this time to visit schools, get organized, get ahead of your coursework, etc. ***This is one of the few breaks we will have during the season!***

Spring Break

We will not be traveling this year for our Spring Break. Our varsity practice days have been added to the schedule. We will be off from Wednesday, 4/12 at 12pm through Monday, 4/17 at 5pm. Please enjoy your time with family, visit schools, get ahead in your coursework, etc.

Weight-training

Lacrosse Weigh Training occurs every TU/TH from 3:30 to 4:30 and is mandatory for all participants. Once tryouts commence, we are moving our weight-training time to 4:15 – 5:00pm. This time change will allow our players the necessary time after school for homework, teacher meetings, tutors, etc., and overall less down time between training sessions. (Tuesday, 1/31 will be the first day at the new time)

There will be more information to follow over the next several days, including volunteer opportunities, Lacrosse 101 details, Lawrenceville stays, Merchandise Orders, Uniform Distribution, Travel, Team Dinners, etc.
