The Brophy track and field team celebrated its 2025 season with its annual team banquet on Monday.
Junior Rylan Umphrey was named the Mickey Ryan Most Valuable Athlete after winning the long jump and participating in the 4x100m relays at the AIA State Division I State Championships. Senior Santiago Sanchez was named the Michael P. Keahon Most Valuable Distance Runner, while Will DeSpong was the Willie Jones Most Valuable Sprinter. Senior Darius Alberty was the Most Valuable Field event athlete for the second consecutive season. He broke the school javelin record last season and looks to compete for the Open title on Saturday.
Evan Giesecke, Jeronimo Gomez del Campo, and Nero Nuez were chosen as the Most Inspirational Athletes.
