Brophy finished 11th out of 41 teams at the Peoria Tournament of Champions and had two wrestlers place. Junior Blake Sweetman was second at 285, losing to Brandon Bass from Servite, Calif., in the finals. At the same time, Adam Angulo was third after falling to the two-time state champ Wade Wallace from New Mexico but beat Calen Reyna of Servite and Charles Laws-Albano of Canyon View coming back.
Landon Jurek (190) and senior Rowdy Benear (157) each won three matches. Parker Mickelson (132) and junior Tanner Dryer (138) won two matches.
Brophy is at Corona del Sol on Wednesday before traveling to Tucson for the Flowing Wells Invitational.
