Shelby Stringer Named the Head Junior Varsity Hockey Coach 

Shelby Stringer will take over the Head Coach duties this fall for the Brophy junior varsity hockey program, Athletic Director Josh Garcia announced. She replaces Steven Schillig.
 
Since joining the faculty in 2022, Stringer has coached with the varsity and junior varsity teams for four seasons as an assistant coach.
 
As a player, Stringer grew up in the valley, attended Rocky Mountain District regional development camps, and captained Arizona’s first girls tier one national qualifying team. She is a USA Hockey Level 4 coach. 
 
On campus, she teaches AP English Language & Composition and co-teaches Leadership, helping organize student spirit sections, the Stampede social media, and pep rallies. In addition, she co-moderates the Veterans Advocacy Club, facilitating the publication of over twenty veterans' stories through Imprints of Honor, and leads the Hawaii immersion trip.
