Junior Layton Fincham provided the clinching point at No. 3 singles with a 7-5, 4-6, 10-6 win over Andrew Rosen to help No. 2 Brophy to a 5-0 win over No. 3 Desert Vista. The Broncos advance to face the No. 1 seed Hamilton at 2 p.m. at Paseo Racquet Club on Saturday.
Brophy (20-5) is the two-time defending champion and is in the state championship match for the ninth consecutive season (minus the COVID season). It is a rematch of the 2025 championship match.
Haan Lee secured the first point with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 4. Freshman Samir Sumar won at No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-3, and Lev Jaffee was a straight-set winner at No. 5 singles 6-3, 6-1. Tyler LeCount was the fourth point winner at No. 6 with a 7-5, 6-4 victory.
