The Brophy Athletic Department hosted a Football College Commitment Celebration Event featuring five student-athletes: Devin Fitzgerald, Football, University of Notre Dame; Deshawn Krein, Football, Montana State University; James Pike, Football, University of Arizona; Daylen Sharper, Football, Stanford University; and Case Vanden Bosch, Football, U.S. Air Force Academy.

Devin Fitzgerald, Football, University of Notre Dame

Fitzgerald finished his career tied for first on the all-time lists for receptions and second in receiving yards and touchdowns, recording 149 catches for 2,125 yards and 26 touchdowns. He was named to the All-Central Region first team, the Navy All-America Game, and the 2025 Fiesta Bowl All-State Preseason Football Team. He was an All-Arizona preseason selection by the Arizona Republic.

He recorded 82 catches for 1,230 and 15 touchdowns in his final season, finishing second in school history in single-season receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns. He saved the best for his final game, tying the school record with 14 receptions for 253 yards and four touchdowns.

Head Coach Jason Jewell on Devin…

“Devin capped off a great Brophy career with an incredible senior season, landing near the top of many statistical categories, including yards, catches, and touchdowns. And it didn't come easy. Devin went from a rotational player as a sophomore to an all-region player as a junior, to an all-American as a senior. All of that came with tremendous hard work and dedication. In about a month, Devin will enroll early at Notre Dame, where I know he can develop into one of their top wide receivers as well.”

Deshawn Krein, Football, Montana State University

Krein was an All-Central Region second team selection in 2025. He ranked seventh on the team and second amongst defensive backs in tackles with 46, and recorded an interception against Shadow Ridge. He was also tied for second in pass defended with four on the season.

Head Coach Jason Jewell on Deshawn…

“It's actually pretty incredible what Deshawn has been able to accomplish in his three years at Brophy. He transferred here and bought into playing cornerback, a position he had never played before, and excelled, starting 25 games in our secondary and making all-region two times. A rare combination of size and speed, Deshawn clocked the fastest 40 we have ever timed last Spring, a laser-timed 4.41. The vision became reality last Spring, when multiple schools offered Deshawn scholarships before he ultimately chose to attend Montana State, one of the best and most winning schools in the country. He is going to cause Big Sky wide receivers fits in his time in Bozeman.

James Pike, Football, University of Arizona

Pike, who was one of the team captains this season, was named an All-Central Region first-team selection for the second time this season. He finished third on the team with 81 tackles and 60 solos. He was tied for the team lead with four pass deflections, placed third in tackles for loss with 7.5, and recorded five or more tackles in 10 of 12 games. He had a career-best 16 tackles at Hamilton this season.

Head coach Jason Jewell on James…

“I am so proud of James for the career he has had for us. He did whatever we asked of him, played any position asked, linebacker, safety, nickel, and he did it at one speed...full speed. His genuine care and concern for this team and his teammates is something that I will not forget—voted a team captain by his peers, which shows that his teammates saw the same things that I saw in him. A two-time all-region player who will be missed not just for his play on the field but for his passion and leadership. I am so happy that James is going to live out his childhood dream of playing college football and doing it at the University of Arizona.”

Daylen Sharper, Football, Stanford University

Sharper finished his career with 143 catches for 1,847 yards and 20 touchdowns, the third-best totals in school history in each category. He was a three-time All-Central region selection and a 2025 Fiesta Bowl All-State Preseason Football Team nominee. Sharper was also a second-team all-state selection on the gridiron and hardwood as a junior, leading the basketball team to the 2025 6A Conference State title.

Head coach Jason Jewell on Daylen…

“Daylen Sharper is going to go down as one of the best multi-sport athletes in Brophy history. He will be mentioned alongside Devon Allen and Isiah Oliver. He led our school to the first basketball state championship in Brophy history, and over the past three years, he has been one of the best and most productive wide receivers we have ever had. A freak athlete with a rare combination of size and speed has made him uncoverable over the past three years. And his weight room numbers are going to stand for a long, long time. It is going to be extremely hard to replace a three-time all-region player like Daylen. I know the sky is the limit for Daylen at Stanford.”

Case Vanden Bosch, Football, U.S. Air Force Academy

Vanden Bosch has been the starter at quarterback for two seasons, leading the Broncos to the Open Division playoffs this season. He was named the Central Region Player of the Year and is a finalist for the Ed Doherty Award. He leaves the school with his name dotting the school record books. He passed for 4,403 yards and 42 touchdowns, ranking fifth and fourth in school history, while finishing as the school’s all-time leading rusher by a quarterback with 1,943 yards. He also had a school record career completion percentage (71.05).

Head coach Jason Jewell on Case…

“The first word that comes to my mind when I describe Case Vanden Bosch is tough. “And I can't think of another quarterback that I have coached that I would describe that way. We asked Case to do a lot and take a beating, and he never backed down, never missed a practice, and never passed up a hit....even though I would have liked him to from time to time. Case's name will be all over our all-time leader board, passing yards, rushing yards, and touchdowns, but what I think makes Case special is his leadership. As our team captain and a campus leader, he will be hard to replace. The Air Force is getting a special player and person.”
