Golf to Host Brophy Rodeo presented by PING August 22-23 at Grayhawk GC

Brophy College Preparatory is proud to host the Brophy Rodeo, presented by PING, at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale on August 22-23. The Rodeo will host 38 boys' and girls’ teams from around the country, representing nine states (Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Nevada, Utah, Oklahoma, Hawaii and Texas)..

With PING as its presenting sponsor, the Rodeo will feature over 200 high school golfers competing over two days of 36-hole stroke play, with 18 holes played daily. The Rodeo will crown one boys' team champion and one girls' team champion, as well as individual boys’ and girls’ champions, and award the top 10 individuals in both divisions.

"The Rodeo is a great way to promote high school golf on an elite golf course,” said Brophy Head Coach Jon Shores. “The relationship with Grayhawk Golf Club, which has hosted several NCAA men's and women's national championships, allows these student-athletes to play at a national championship venue. We want the Rodeo to offer students from across the country a memorable experience of playing high school golf, hoping they might continue playing at the next level."

The boys will play on the Raptor Course, while the girls will play on the Talon Course. Tee times begin at 7 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Teams will play practice rounds on Thursday, August 21, participate in a Skills Challenge, and have a pre-tournament dinner at 6 p.m.

The boy’s field includes the host four-time champion (2021-24) Rodeo Team champion and Arizona state champion Brophy; Andrews High School (Andrews, Texas), Archbishop McCarthy High School (Southwest Ranches, Fla.), Belen Jesuit Prep (Miami, Fla.), Catalina Foothills High School (Tucson, Ariz.), Community School of Naples (Naples, Fla.), Corner Canyon High School (Utah Division 6A, Draper, Utah), Hamilton High School (Chandler, Ariz.), Lakewood Ranch High School (Lakewood Ranch, Fla.), Liberty Christian School (Argyle, Texas), Mabank High School (Mabank, Texas), Mansfield Legacy High School (Mansfield, Texas), Notre Dame Prep (Ariznoa Division II State Champion, Scottsdale, Ariz.) Oklahoma City Storm (Oklahoma City, Okla.), Page High School (Page, Ariz.), Punahou School (Honolulu, Haw.), Regis Jesuit (Aurora, Colo.), Strake Jesuit (Houston, Texas), Trinity Christian Academy (Addison, Texas), Venice High School (Venice, Fla.) and Vero Beach High School (Vero Beach, Fla.)

Brophy is the four-time defending champion, and the boys field includes five of the top six teams from the 2024 field, as well as four of the top six teams in the country and six teams from the Top 50 in the 2024-25 National High School Golf Association rankings. National High School Golf Association No. 1 Corner Canyon returns with No. 3 Notre Dame Prep, the Arizona Division II state champion; No. 5 Catalina Foothills, the Arizona Division I State champion; No. 6 Brophy; No. 39 Regis Jesuit; and No. 45 Hamilton.

The girl’s field includes Andrews High School (Andrews, Texas), Archbishop McCarthy High School (Southwest Ranches, Fla.), Bishop Gorman High School (Las Vegas, Nev.), Cactus Shadows High School (Scottsdale, Ariz.), Casteel High School (Queen Creek, Ariz.), Community School of Naples (Naples, Fla.) Coronado High School (Henderson, Nev.) Granite Bay High School (Granite Bay, Calif.), JJ Pearce High School (Richardson, Texas), Liberty Christian School (Argyle, Texas), Perry High School (Gilbert, Ariz.), Pinnacle High School (Phoenix, Ariz.), Punahou School (Honolulu, Haw.), Ronald Reagan High School (San Antonio, Texas), Seton Catholic Prep (Chandler, Ariz.) Ursuline Academy (Dallas, Texas), and Xavier College Prep (Phoenix, Ariz.).

The Rodeo was born from a previous invitational tournament hosted by Hamilton High School. The Antigua National High School Invitational was held from 2009 to 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of the 2020 National Tournament, as out-of-state teams were unable to travel; however, the event was held as a smaller Arizona Invitational. In 2021, Brophy became the new host of the tournament and secured PING as an event sponsor. We are proud and excited to have PING as our title sponsor.
