Golf Team Finishes as No. 1 Team in the Nation

The Brophy golf team is ranked No. 1 in the nation in the final rankings by the PGA National High School Golf Association for the 2025-26 season. The Broncos topped the list ahead of No. 2 Mountain Brook (Alabama), No. 3 Notre Dame Prep (Arizona), No. 4 Corner Canyon (Utah), and No. 5 Lone Peak (Utah).

The ranking is based on the use of the USGA Handicap Formula (Gross player score by day - rating) * 113/Slope).

The Broncos won the 2025 AIA Division I State Championship with a 12-stroke victory over Hamilton.  The Broncos shot rounds of 272-277 in the championships, with each of their top four players finishing in the top 10 individuals. Junior Asher Nelson and sophomore Hank Miller tied for second at 135 (-9). Senior Mateo Berastegui was at five-under par 139 in fifth place, while junior Jack Langbein was seventh overall at 140 after his second consecutive round of 70 (-2).

Brophy repeated as state champions for the first time since 1993-94 and captured their 11th state title in school history, tying Thatcher and Arcadia for the state record.

The National High School Golf Association is an organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of high school golfers across the United States.

Brophy has ranked as high as No. 4 in 2022-23 and been among the top 10 three times.
