Other: Mr. Catan has presented papers about Ernest Hemingway at 10 national and international conferences including the International Hemingway Conference in Paris in 2018. His essay "Sylvia Beach: Hemingway's Most Impassioned Supporter" was published in The Hemingway Review. Mr. Catan is also a book critic with bylines in USA Today, The New York Times, the Los Angeles Review of Books, the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and upcoming in the Harvard Review and Minnesota Monthly.
