Transferring to Brophy

Brophy accepts a limited number of transfer students each year. All transfer students join at the beginning of the school year - we do not accept students mid-year or mid-semester.*

We accept a limited number of students at the start of 10th and 11th grades. We typically do not accept senior transfers who are coming from public schools because these students do not have the religion classes and thus cannot meet our graduation requirements. The number of transfer students accepted is based on the number of spots available once our current students have registered for the new academic year.

The application process for transfer students begins in early March with all application materials due on May 25, 2018. Decisions are ideally made in mid-June but can occur as late as early August. Please contact the Admissions Office in mid-March for an online application.

*If you are moving from out of state mid-year with a job transfer, or have an unusual situation, please contact the Office of Admissions for more information.

Steps to Apply

  1. Complete and submit online application by clicking the link below. Please call the admissions office first for a username and password to access the application.

  2. Pay your $75 fee online. If you applied to Brophy last year, there is no charge. Call our office to receive a waiver code for the online application.

  3. Submit required recommendation and transcript documents by Friday, May 25, 2018. Recommendation forms can be download/printed from this page or sent via email to teachers within the application checklist. Transcript Request and Student Discipline Information forms must be downloaded/printed and given to the Registrar and Dean.

  4. Have a personal interview. All applicants are required to have a personal interview with a Brophy faculty member. We typically do these in April or May. Please call our office to set up an appointment. Interviews last approximately 20 minutes. If you are living out of town, we can schedule an interview via SKYPE or Facetime.

List of 2 frequently asked questions.

  • Q To which grade levels can a transfer student apply?

To transfer, an applicant must have taken a college preparatory course of studies and have maintained a minimum grade point average of 3.2 or higher during his high school year(s). Brophy accepts transfer applications for students entering 10th and 11th grades.
  • Q How soon will a transfer student know if he has been accepted?

Notification to students who have been accepted can begin as early as June and be as late as the first week of August. Because decisions may be made as late as Aug. 1, 2018, we strongly suggest you register your son at another high school while you are waiting to hear from Brophy.
