Carter Clemmensen '18 Named National Soccer Player of the Year
PHOENIX - June 27 - USA Today and American Family Insurance announced today that Carter Clemmensen '18 has been selected as the ALL-USA National Boys Soccer Player of the Year. Earlier this year, Clemmensen was named Gatorade Player of the Year/Arizona and AZ Central Player of the Year. He was also named the Region Player of the Year in 2017 and 2018.
Clemmensen, a forward for the Broncos, has 114 career goals at Brophy, scoring 39 with 13 assists during the 2017-18 season. He will play for the University of California, Santa Barbara in the fall.
Coach Paul Allen says, "Carter is one of the most prolific goal scorers to come out of Arizona. He is a big, strong, athletic forward who can beat players off the dribble or play with his back to the goal. I couldn't be more proud of him for his accomplishments. He has shown tremendous growth and maturity over his four years with our program. I am very excited to watch him play in college over these next four years."
