Volleyball’s Carsten Ellingson Commits to Concordia University Wisconsin

Volleyball senior Carsten Ellingson has committed to attend and play at Concordia University Wisconsin. The Falcons are a Division III school located in Mequon, Wisc., and are coached by Head Coach Curtis Madson.

“From the academic side, I want to major in environmental law,” said Ellingson. “It was the biggest thing. From the school's side, they met my needs in every way I could ever have asked for, and their environmental program blew me out of the water. Coach Curtis is a super nice, genuine guy. He really made me fall in love with school itself.”

Ellingson has been a four-year player for the Broncos. He was selected to the 2025 All-Central Region honorable mention team and the Sports360 AZ All-Academic team. He also played on the inaugural Beach Volleyball team in the fall and on the Broncos' football team for two seasons.

“Carsten is one of the most competitive student-athletes our program has had,” said Head Coach Tony Oldani. “He is relentless in his pursuit of excellence in skill development and tactical insights as a middle blocker. His energy and positive enthusiasm have made him a tremendous leader for our program. His attitude and work ethic, combined with his leadership skills, will allow him to make an immediate impact for Coach Madson at Concordia University-Wisconsin next year.”

Ellingson is looking forward to taking his playing career to the next level.

“It has always been a lifelong dream,” said Ellingson. “To be able to play at the collegiate level has been a dream for me.  I love to play competitive volleyball. It pushes me to get better every day. I look forward to playing in that conference and with new teammates to make my teammates and me better.”

He is also looking forward to the benefits of living in Wisconsin and the Midwest.

“The big thing I get to go fishing,” said Ellingson. “Being in the Midwest, there is a lot of fishing and a lot of places to go. I love to golf too. Whistling Straits is about 45 minutes away, and it is a super nice golf course.”

Ellingson will join the Brophy College Commitment celebration on Wednesday at 7:15 a.m. in the Robson Gymnasium.
