Baseball’s Vinny Noble to Play at Trinity University

Senior Vinny Noble has committed to play baseball and attend Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. The Division III school plays in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC).

“They were the first school to reach out to me,” said Noble. “I am most excited about having a fresh start. I only know two players, and I look forward to living in a new city. I have only heard good things about San Antonio.”

Noble will play for Head Coach Tim Scannell, who is in his 28th season leading the Tigers. He has led the program to the NCAA postseason 14 times and two College World Series appearances, including the 2016 Division III championship.

“The coaching staff was really nice, and they believed in me a lot,” said Noble. “It means a lot to continue my career. Playing college baseball at any level because only a small percentage do it.”

Noble has been a four-year player and a two-year varsity player. He has hit .286 this season over 14 games. He has produced three multi-hit games over his last six appearances, hitting .466 over that stretch. He hit his first varsity home run against Perry on April 9.

”Since his freshman year, Vinny Noble has defined himself by his openness to coaching and his dedication to constant improvement,” said Head Coach Josh Garcia ‘07. “Each season, Vinny has taken significant strides forward, reflecting his commitment to getting better every single day. His growth, both on and off the field, has been remarkable, and it’s clear that his best baseball is still ahead of him. We’re proud of Vinny’s journey and can’t wait to watch him continue to develop at Trinity University.”

Noble is grateful for his Brophy baseball experience.

“It has been very character-building,” said Noble. “I would be in a different place right now if I had gone to a public school. It has prepared me for college baseball, and it is that is what I am grateful for.”

Noble will participate in the Brophy College Commitment Ceremony on Wednesday at 7:15 a.m.
