Ryan Peitzmeier has committed to playing lacrosse and attending the University of Utah. The Utes compete in the NCAA Division I Atlantic Sun Conference.
“I am excited about the lacrosse and college experience,” said Peitzmeier. “I am excited to meet new people and be on a college lacrosse team. It will be a lot of fun.”
He will play for Head Coach Andrew McMinn, who is set to begin his fifth year with the program in 2026. In each of his four prior seasons, McMinn has led the Utes to at least a share of the ASUN regular season championship with two outright titles (2022, ’23), two conference tournament crowns (2023, ’24), and a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances (2023, ’24).
“The coaches were super nice to me, and all of the players were inviting and open to having me there,” said Peitzmeier about the family feel on his visit to Salt Lake City.
Peitzmeier has been a standout goalie for the Broncos, earning Arizona Lacrosse 2025 League first-team goalie honors while leading the team to the state championship for the third straight season. He recorded 152 saves and had a 55 percent save percentage on the season.
Playing the goalie position required a lot of practice and study since he took up the position.
“As a player, I have improved by learning from the players above me,” said Peitzmeier. “I have been practicing goalie and have gotten better by watching videos and other goalies play. It is a lot of work, and you have to have the mindset and work ethic to play at the collegiate level.”
Head coach Pat Harbeson has seen Peitzmeier grow into the player he is entering his senior season.
“Ryan Peitzmeier has helped elevate our program to new heights,” said Head Coach Pat Harbeson. “As a goaltender, he possesses natural ball-stopping instincts and finds ways to rob scorers every game. His insatiable desire to improve and love for the game are evident—Ryan is always the first to jump in the cage for extra reps. His potential is through the roof, and I’m excited to watch his continued development next year at the University of Utah.”
His favorite memory was winning his first state championship. He and his teammates will compete to win a fourth in their careers this season.
Peitzmeier is one of four Brophy players who have made collegiate commitments.
