Golf senior Jack Abraham has committed to playing and attending school at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colo. The Bears compete in the Division I Big Sky Conference.
“I am really excited to get this opportunity to keep playing golf,” said Abraham. “It is what I love to do. I am looking forward to playing in the Big Sky Conference. We play a great schedule and will be able to compete at the highest level.”
He will play for Clayton Sikorsky at UNC, who has overseen the program since 2021. Northern Colorado has a proud history in Big Sky men's golf, having won the league title in 2023 and earning multiple team and individual honors over the years. The Bears play a competitive schedule, including the annual tournament hosted by the University of Colorado.
“The coach was very welcoming,” said Abahram. “He reached out to me late in the process, and I had offers from other schools. He was very interested in me as a person, not just as a golfer. He made things personal and said I could have a big impact on the program. He stresses what is best for the players.”
Abraham has seen action in 26 tournaments over his career. He finished 22nd at the 2025 Brophy Rodeo presented by Ping (74-74) and tied for 30th at the Brophy Invitational (74-77). He was also the medalist at the Page 18-hole dual match with a 71. He secured the Brophy win at the Dobson Classic with a birdie on the final hole. His best finish was 14th at the 2024 Peaks Invitational, where he posted rounds of 75-73.
“Jack was the only freshman to make the team his first year,” said Head Coach Jon Shores “I have been so impressed with the growth I have seen in Jack over the years. His game has improved every year. But what I am most impressed with is his commitment to the team. He works as hard as anyone, advocates for his teammates, and has stepped up as a leader. He has really come into his own as a great player and team leader, and that will carry him forward in his career at Northern Colorado, where I expect him to continue working hard and showing a great commitment to his new team.”
Abraham has thrived in the competition on the Brophy team, helping the program secure the last two state championships.
“There are a lot of good players in the program,” said Abaham. “We compete at the highest level, comparable to a college team. It's been fun competing with these guys.
Abraham has also served as the President of the social golf club, which has over 200 members. “It is fun to play and take a break from competitive golf and introduce my classmates to the game,” recalled Abraham.
