The Brophy swimming and Diving team won the AMDG Invitational on Saturday with 483 points to win their third invitational title of the season. Brophy won seven events on the afternoon, including two relays, taking the 200 medley relay (Heffer, Harrison, Conley, Schloz) and 200 free relay (Asher Gomez, Schloz, Heimer, Guidry).
Senior Ashton Joswiak won the 200 freestyle in 1:42.44, with teammates Conley in third and Levi Gomez in fourth. Freshman Liam Ferguson was third in the 200 individual medley. Seniors Thomas McCauley and Asher Gomez took the top two spots in the 50 free, separated by .01 (22.02 to 22.03), with freshman Noah Heimer in fourth. Senior Grady Garbarino and junior August Kalina were second and third, respectively, in the 100 butterfly. Freshman Nolan Guidry won the 100 freestyle (47.07). Junior Patrick Dunn won the 500 freestyle (4:38.36) with sophomore Levi Gomez in second place. Joswiak captured his second event in the 100 backstroke, edging teammate Mark Heffern 53.82 to 53.88. Sophomore Lawrence Geer was second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:02.82, with junior Brayden Harrison in third.
Brophy will host Desert Mountain on Thursday at 4 p.m. Senior ceremonies will be held following the event.
