Rowing’s Quincy Sweet Qualifies for USRowing National Championships
Sunday’s Grand Finals saw sophomore Quincy Sweet claim a bronze medal with a 3rd-place finish in the Men's U17 Single at the USRowing Southwest District Championships outside Sacramento, earning him a spot at the USRowing National Championships in Sarasota, Florida, this June.
All of the Brophy boats advanced out of Friday’s time trials and into Saturday’s semi-finals—a great start to a competitive weekend. The Brophy Men’s 2V Double Sculls entries, featuring Cooper LaVoy and Carter Walsh, Jack Nidiffer and Gabe Taino, qualified for Sunday’s Finals straight out of the time trials.
Saturday brought several standout performances, including Brody Jennings, who finished 3rd in the Men's Single semi-final A, Sweet, who secured 2nd place in the Men's U17 Single semi-final, and the Brophy Men’s Double Scull entry of Brody Jennings and Noah Sunshine, who narrowly missed a spot in the A Final, placing 4th in a tight race.
