Volleyball’s Connor Oldani Named AVCA Second-Team All-America
Brophy standout senior Connor Oldani capped off his remarkable senior season with American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America honors announced by the organization today. He was named to the second team.
Oldani, a Grand Canyon University commit, led the state in kills (543) and hitting percentage (.522), ranking fourth and seventh nationally. He was also named the Premier Region, the 6A Conference Player of the Year, and Arizona Republic’s All-Arizona Player of the Year after helping the Broncos to the 2024 6A State Championship. Brophy was the No. 8 team in the final AVCA/USA Today Sports Super 25 poll.
Only players in their senior season whose high school head coaches are AVCA members were eligible for nomination. There are ten players on the first team, ten on the second team, and six honorable mention selections. This year’s 26 student-athletes are from 23 high schools in 11 states. Loyola High School of Los Angeles leads the way with three players receiving recognition (one first-teamer and two honorable mention picks), followed by Corona del Mar High School with two (one first-teamer and one honorable mention selection).
Eighteen colleges received at least one commitment from a 2024 AVCA All-American. USC is the only school to have signed three first- or second-teamers, and Grand Canyon and Stanford have two commitments each.
Brophy College Preparatory is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Alumni Awards, which will be presented during the Father–Son Communion Breakfast on Saturday, Nov. 22. The annual gathering is one of Brophy’s most cherished traditions, bringing together generations of fathers and sons for a morning of faith, fellowship, and celebration of the Brophy brotherhood.
