Track and Field Celebrates Season with Banquet

The Brophy track and field team celebrated their 2024 season with their annual team banquet on Tuesday. 

Senior Jack Sebald was named the Mickey Ryan Most Valuable Athlete after reaching the final in the 110m and 300m hurdles at the AIA State Open Championships, placing third and seventh. Senior Jack Kyle was named the Michael P. Keahon Most Valuable Distance Runner, while Luca Cannizzo was the Willie Jones Most Valuable Sprinter. Junior Darius Alberty was the Most Valuable Field event athlete. He finished eighth at the Open and broke the school record this season.

  • Most Outstanding Sophomore Athlete - Rylan Umphrey 
  • Most Improved athletes –  Gavin McGuire, Nero Nuez
  • Most Inspirational athlete – Marlon Colbert, Brendon Luke
  • Team Captains - Ryan de Koning, Will DeSpong, Marco Smith,  Anderson Kopp, Conner Brown, Jack Kyle
  • Most Valuable Field Event athlete – Darius Alberty
  • Willie Jones / Most Valuable Sprinter – Luca Cannizzo 
  • Michael P. Keahon/ Most Valuable Distance Runner –  Jack Kyle
  • Mickey Ryan / Most Valuable Athlete – Jack Sebald
