Tennis Moves into Semifinals with Win over Corona del Sol
The top-seeded Brophy tennis team showcased its dominance with a 5-0 win over Corona del Sol. They are now set to face the winner of Perry/Rincon on Friday at Scottsdale Ranch in Scottsdale at 10 a.m.
Junior Ryan Zerbib recorded a straight-set 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles to open the match. Junior Tyler Woo was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at No. 5, while Logan Phillips recorded a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 3. Naren Gidavalli was a straight set winner at No. 4, while Alex Bunkse clinched the match with his 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 6.
The Broncos are looking to qualify for their seventh consecutive state final. Brophy lost to Desert Mountain in 2023 but most recently won the team title in 2022.
