Rugby Wins Rugby Arizona State Championship
The Brophy Rugby program won 26-19 over Phoenix to capture the 2024 Arizona Rugby State Championship at the Reata Sports Complex in Scottsdale. It is the team's first title since 2018. They were the No. 1 ranked team in 2020 before the championship was canceled due to COVID-19. The Broncos reached the championship match in both 2022 and 2023.
Brophy built a 19-7 lead at the half, but Phoenix would tie the score at 19 with less than five minutes remaining. Senor Race Bates recorded the go-ahead winning score.
