Senior Laird Miller scored five times and had two assists to help Brophy to a 19-9 win over Scottsdale in the Arizona Lacrosse League quarterfinals on Friday. The top-seeded Broncos will host No. 4 seed Perry on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Graham Family Sports Campus.
Carter Barclay-White opened the game with two goals, and Miller and Deion James scored in the first period while Brophy built a 5-0 lead. The Broncos put the game out of reach with 10 goals in the second period.
Nine players scored in the contest behind the strong play of Deion James, who recorded 16 faceoff wins. Goalie Ryan Peitzmeier allowed just two goals in the first half as Brophy led 15-2.
