Brophy Senior 1 of 357 in the World to Earn AP Perfect Score
Charlie Judd ’24 was one of only 357 students in the world to earn a perfect score on the 2023 AP Research Exam, earning every point possible. AP Research is the second course in the College Board's Capstone program. According to AP Research instructor, Mike Welty, the research class has the students engage in a year-long individual research project of their own choice.
AP Research is the course that follows AP Seminar and is part of the prerequisite to earning the AP Capstone diploma. Mr. Welty notes that after completing the Capstone program, students are capable of engaging in independent research. It also gives them the ability to better assess the credibility of sources and skillfully incorporate valid evidence into arguments containing multiple perspectives.
Brophy has offered AP Seminar and AP Research for the past seven years with many students earning the Capstone diploma during that time. Mr. Welty commented on Charlie's success: "Charlie is an exceptional student with a high degree of skill in critical reading and writing. He achieved at the highest level in both Seminar and Research. Additionally, he is an accomplished member of Brophy's Speech and Debate team.
Brophy College Preparatory is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Alumni Awards, which will be presented during the Father–Son Communion Breakfast on Saturday, Nov. 22. The annual gathering is one of Brophy’s most cherished traditions, bringing together generations of fathers and sons for a morning of faith, fellowship, and celebration of the Brophy brotherhood.
