The Brophy cross country team placed second at the Casteel Invitational on Friday behind three top-10 finishes in their final tuneup before the championship season begins.
Junior Santiago Sanchez led the Bronco pack with a fifth-place finish in 16:13. He was followed closely by senior Jack Kyle in 16:22 and senior Kenoby Hetman in eighth in 16:29. Renzo Martin was 18th overall (17:30) and Lucas Vargas in 27th.
Freshman Diego Alejos won the Open race in 18:14 to lead the Broncos to a 37-57 victory over Page. Behind Alejos, Josiah Colburt was sixth (19:20), and James Perkins was eighth (19:33).
