Baseball’s Meissner and Franz Earn All-State Honors
Senior Lucas Franz and junior Jack Meissner were chosen to the 6A Conference All-State first team as selected by the coaches.
Meissner led the team in hitting at .494 with a team-best 27 RBI and 25 runs scored. He had 16 multi-hit games including a season-best four hits against Pinnacle in the state playoff game. He recorded a .550 on-base percentage and 1.148 OPS on the season.
He was named an AZBCA All-State second-team selection and was an All-Premier Region first-team choice.
Franz was second on the team in batting average at .375 and was named the Premier Region Defensive Player of the Year. He will also play in the 6A Conference All-Star game on the South squad on May 28 at Noon at Goodyear Ballpark.
